Active travel route from Ynysawdre is underway

With help from Welsh Government funding for active travel routes across Wales, Bridgend County Borough Council will soon begin work on a new active travel route from Ynysawdre (seen in red on the map). This route will link two points on the existing active travel network, as well as provide the start of a proposed future route, continuing to the east of the River Ogmore.

Tennis courts officially reopened after state of the art renovations

Community tennis courts have been officially reopened across Bridgend County Borough as part of a jointly funded £520,000 project which offers improvements to existing facilities while promoting the importance of an active lifestyle to both adults and children.

Local rogue builder given suspended prison sentence

Following an investigation by Shared Regulatory Services (SRS), Blaengarw builder, Drew Joyce, has received a sentence of nine months imprisonment, which has been suspended for two years.

First Cymru confirms changes to X1 and X3 bus routes

Following the recent announcement by First Cymru that it will be introducing changes across a range of south and west Wales bus services, Bridgend County Borough Council is advising local residents that both the X1 and X3 services will be affected.

Council supports traders after RAAC forces closure of indoor market

The Bridgend Indoor Market at the Rhiw Shopping Centre in Bridgend town centre remains closed in the interests of public safety due to a potential issue involving the use of Reinforced Autoclaved Aerated Concrete (RAAC) within the structure’s roof.
