Sold out Ogi Porthcawl 10K returns this Sunday

The Ogi Porthcawl 10K returns this weekend (Sunday 7 July) and residents are reminded that there will be some safety measures in place including temporary road closures and bus diversions.

Entries for the 10K are sold out and locals are encouraged to cheer on all those taking part, with participants arriving from all over the United Kingdom.

The runners will set off and finish by the harbour on Eastern Promenade while enjoying panoramic views across the coast as they race through areas such as Coney Beach, Sandy Bay and Trecco Bay. The route will also take runners along John Street and through the heart of the town and a sprint finish along the promenade passed the iconic Grand Pavilion.

A full road closure map is available on the Porthcawl 10K website and the route has been specially designed to minimise disruption for residents and businesses.

But, to ensure the event can proceed safely, bus route diversions will also be in place for the X2, 63 and Stagecoach 172 services – you can find out more by visiting www.firstgroup.com/south-west-wales and www.stagecoachbus.com. Anyone attending the event is advised to pre-book parking in advance through the official event parking website. Please note that you cannot drive into the car park to drop someone off without a booking.

We’re delighted to see the Ogi Porthcawl 10K sell-out once again this year. Excitement in the town is building, and we’re very much looking forward to race day.

While the event is now sold out, there’s still a chance to get involved and soak in the fantastic and friendly race day atmosphere by spectating and cheering on your family and friends. We’re looking forward to welcoming everyone down to the Porthcawl seafront on Sunday 7 July.
