Bridgend County Borough Council’s Social Services and Wellbeing department would like to thank everyone who has already donated to this year’s Santa Appeal and remind you that there’s still time to donate.
The annual appeal for toys and gifts for children and young people who may not otherwise receive a gift on Christmas morning is closing on Monday 4 December, so please consider donating.
Your donation will ensure that every child and young person in Bridgend County Borough in our care will wake up on Christmas morning with a gift and a reason to smile.
Cash donations are preferable to purchase suitable presents for children and young people from birth to 21 years of age.
If you would like to help, even just by giving a small donation, please visit Awen’s Just Giving page and make your donation online. You can also make a card or cash donation at your local Halo sports centre or swimming pool.
If you would prefer to buy a gift and donate that way, please deliver your new gift, which must be unwrapped in a gift bag to the following designated drop-off points:
- Bridgend County Borough Council, Civic Offices, Angel Street, Bridgend
- Aberkenfig Library
- Betws Library
- Maesteg Library
- Bridgend Library
- Pencoed Library
- Porthcawl Library
- Pyle Library/Life Centre
- Sarn Library
Library opening hours can be found on the Awen website.
Volunteers will once again sort the gifts into appropriate age groups and wrap them ready for delivery to the homes of children and young people across the county borough.
We are extremely grateful to everyone who has kindly donated to the Santa Appeal so far this year.
Christmas can be a really difficult and sad time for many local children and young people and your donation, no matter how small, will go a long way to help them experience a little bit of festive magic.
Don’t forget to get your donations in by Monday 4th December – thank you!
Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member for Social Services and Health Councillor Jane Gebbie
