An application for a hydrogen production facility and associated solar farm in the Brynmenyn and Bryncethin area will no longer be considered as part of a special meeting of the Development Control Committee on Monday 29 April.
While the special meeting will still go ahead, the Hybont application has been deferred in order to provide planning officers with more time to complete the analysis of issues such as highway gradients and noise levels, and to properly consider and process new and additional information which has just been received.
The special meeting was originally arranged to reflect the high level of public interest in the application, accommodate a visit to the intended site of the new facility, and to provide extended speaking rights due to the high number of objections that have been received.
The site visit planned to take place on the morning of the special meeting has also been deferred.
The Hybont application has been submitted by Japanese renewable energy specialists, Marubeni Europower Ltd. and will be determined on the basis of its individual merits in line with planning guidelines and regulations.
A new date for the rescheduled special meeting of Development Control will be announced soon. Until then, more information on the proposed development is available at www.hybont.co.uk.
