Last chance to apply for ‘warm hubs’ funding

Bridgend County Borough Council’s Employability Bridgend team in partnership with Bridgend Association of Voluntary Organisations (BAVO) are issuing a final call for applications for the ‘Warm Hubs Grant Scheme’ funded by Welsh Government.

Grants of between £500 and £2,000 are available for community centres, groups, facilities, as well as not-for-profit enterprises. The funds are to support new or existing warm spaces, where people can come together, participate in activities, and connect.

The funding is being provided by Welsh Government through the Welsh Local Government Association and is administered by the Bridgend Association of Voluntary Organisations (BAVO).

You can check if you are eligible for a grant on BAVO’s website, where you will also find guidelines for completing the application. You will need to hurry though, as the deadline for applications is Tuesday 14 January 2025.

We are pleased to see the return of much needed funding for community groups to provide warm and welcoming spaces across our county borough during the long winter months.

Loneliness is an issue for many people in our local communities, along with cost-of-living pressures and accessing essenial support.

Warm hubs can help to combat this and offer a safe space where people can get the support and interaction they need. We’d like to thank those who are already providing these essential places in our local communities, which often act as a lifeline for individuals and families in need.

Cabinet Member for Regeneration, Economic Development and Housing Councillor Neelo Farr
