Kier’s Garden Waste Service is due to restart in spring

The Garden Waste Service, fully funded by Kier, is due to restart with the company offering a random selection of enrolling residents a free subscription service.

Beginning on Monday March 13 until Friday 17 November, collections will happen every fortnight, on the same day as bin bags are acquired.  Collecting a range of garden waste including plants, flowers, weeds, grass, leaves and hedge clippings, the service costs £46.01 per household or £41.73 for pensioners.

The facility has become increasingly popular, with almost 8,000 residents subscribing to it in 2022, as well as 1300 tonnes of garden waste collected for composting.  Those who subscribed to the service last year will receive information from Kier about it for this coming year.

This is a fantastic service, offered by our partnership company, Kier. It is extremely convenient, with residents just having to place their green waste outside of their homes to be collected, and is another way of supporting the community as best we can.

I am delighted to see the increasing number of residents subscribing to the facility, demonstrating the quality service that Kier provides in collecting and composting green waste across the county borough.

Councillor John Spanswick, Cabinet Member for Communities
