Invitation for expressions of interest in becoming a member of the Bridgend Local Access Forum.

Bridgend County Borough Council is currently in the process of re-establishing the statutory Local Access Forum for the Bridgend area, as required under the Countryside and Rights of Way Act 2000. The Forum will consist of a maximum of 22 members.

The function of the Forum will be to advise the local authority, Natural Resources Wales and others, as to the improvement of public access to land in Bridgend County Borough for the purposes of open-air recreation and the enjoyment of the local area.

Meetings will be held on a minimum of 2 occasions throughout the year but are likely to occur on a more regular basis. It is important that members can attend all meetings, as deputies will not be permitted. These are voluntary unpaid positions but forum members will be able to claim reasonable expenses.

Any person wishing to be considered for membership can obtain further details or an application form by contacting:

Mr. Andrew Mason, Local Access Forum Secretary by emailing: rightsofway@bridgend.gov.uk or by telephoning 01656 642537 / 01656 642553

Closing date: 17 February 2023
