Coychurch Crematorium donates over £11,000 to St John Ambulance Cymru

Coychurch Crematorium has donated over £11,000 to St John Ambulance Cymru as part of a national scheme which raises money for lots of worthwhile causes around the country.

The charity received a total of £11,600 and was nominated by Coychurch Crematorium’s Joint Committee, which is made up of councillors from Bridgend County Borough Council, Rhondda Cynon Taf County Borough Council, and the Vale of Glamorgan County Borough Council.

The Crematorium has previously donated its share of the money raised to various local bereavement related charities and has been part of the Institute of Cemetery and Crematorium Management’s scheme (ICCM) since 2005.

St John Ambulance Cymru carries out crucial work to save lives and to equip people with the necessary skills to help save lives, whilst also offering patient transport assistance to the NHS Ambulance Service and local health boards. They also provide first aid and mental health training services to organisations throughout Wales.

A spokesperson for St John Ambulance Cymru has responded, said: “We are elated with this news! Thank you so, so much! This is such a terrific amount, and we are all so grateful for the support”.

We are privileged to make a donation to St John Ambulance Cymru and we recognise the valuable work they do in the community to not only save lives but to provide crucial training to many organisations across the country.

Cllr John Spanswick, Leader of Bridgend County Borough Council and Chair of the Coychurch Crematorium Joint Committee
