Community projects set to receive £61,000 of Town and Community Capital Grant funding

Following the careful consideration of a panel consisting of Bridgend County Borough Council’s Cabinet Members and officers, communities across the county borough are set to benefit from the second round of Town and Community Capital Grant funding to support proposed projects.

Applications for the Town and Community Capital Grant 2024 -2025 closed at the end of August, with eight community councils requesting support for specific schemes. 

Prioritised applications were directly linked to the council’s Community Asset Transfer (CAT) scheme and in alignment with its Decarbonisation Net-Zero 2030 agenda.  Additionally, for this second round of funding, favoured proposed projects also supported the council’s seven corporate priorities, which range from cultivating a county borough with thriving valley communities to one that helps people fulfil their potential.

Funds have been granted to support initiatives in Porthcawl, Pyle, Coity, the Garw Valley, St Brides Minor and Cefn Cribwr.  Schemes range from the installation of dropped kerbs and footpath lighting, to the refurbishment of tennis courts.  Applicants who were unsuccessful on this occasion, can receive support and advice in readiness for any future bids.
