Christmas and New Year plans at Bridgend County Borough Council

Bridgend County Borough Council has confirmed its opening hours for the Christmas and New Year period.

Apart from bank holidays, council services will continue as usual.

On bank holidays, residents are advised to visit the council’s website to find out any information they are looking for.

The My Account service will also be available for residents to report any issues to the council, so they can be resolved as soon as possible once normal services resume. Individuals can also use the service to manage their council tax or housing benefits account.

Normal opening hours will resume on Tuesday 3 January 2023:

Also, waste and recycling collections will be carried out as normal up to and including Friday 23 December.

There will be no collections on Saturday 24 December (Christmas Eve), Sunday 25 December (Christmas Day) or Monday 26 December (Boxing Day).

Collections due the week of 26 December will be collected one day later than usual until they return to normal from Monday 2 January.

Residents can put out one extra waste bag for their first refuse collection after Christmas Day.

Kier will also have an additional vehicle out to collect extra cardboard – if yours isn’t collected with other recycling, the crew will come back to collect it later.

Keep an eye on the council’s website and social media channels in the coming weeks for information on how you can dispose of festive waste such as your turkey carcass, Christmas tree, wrapping paper and more.

Bridgend County Borough Council would like to wish all residents a Merry Christmas, and a Happy New Year.
