Caring community of St. Mary’s and St. Patrick’s Catholic Primary School shines in recent Estyn inspection

The supportive community, impeccable behaviour of the children who show care and concern for each other, were amongst the strengths noted by inspectors during an Estyn inspection which took place earlier this year.

Estyn inspectors also highlighted the strong relationships between staff and pupils, as well as the way in which staff manage to engage and motivate learners successfully during lessons.

The headteacher and deputy headteacher, who were appointed their roles within the past year, were recognised in the Estyn report for working diligently with the school’s new leadership team to implement improvements in school practices. The school governors were also acknowledged for supporting the headteacher and other senior leaders.

Headteacher, Nicola Kelly Fisher, said: “I am privileged to lead an amazing team at St. Mary's and St. Patrick's RC Primary School, fully supported by our governing body. The inspectors carried out the inspection with fairness and transparency. 

“Full credit is due to our pupils, who show a fellowship of belonging and a love of learning, throughout their journey with us. I am certain that we will continue to build upon our success and look to the future with our whole community.”

What a successful Estyn inspection! St. Mary’s and St. Patrick’s RC Primary School should be very proud! How fantastic that one of the main highlights from the inspection is the quality of the relationships at the school – not only between pupils and staff, but between the pupils themselves.
