Bridgend County Borough benefits from ‘Warm Welcome’ funding

The Warm Hubs Grant Scheme is set to benefit community centres and groups across the county borough, with approximately £40,000 offered by Welsh Government to support the initiative.

Administered by BAVO, grants of up to £2,000 are available for community centres, groups, facilities, as well as not-for-profit enterprises.  The funds are to support new or existing warm spaces, where people can come together, participate in activities, and connect.

With the Warm Hubs Scheme now open for applications, the grants panel will meet twice a week, ensuring a quick response to applicants.

This is such a fantastic opportunity to develop warm hubs across the county borough - enhancing the existing community led warm spaces provision that we already have.

The initiative supports our local communities in so many ways. The hubs not only provide a warm, safe space during the cost-of-living crisis, but also offer a space to connect with each other - especially important following the social isolation brought about by the pandemic. The warm hubs encourage social engagement, which is so vital to our wellbeing.
