Porthcawl CPO

On 20 July 2021 the Council’s Cabinet provided formal approval to make, advertise, notify and progress confirmation of a Compulsory Purchase Order to acquire land to support the Porthcawl Waterfront Regeneration Scheme.

Following receipt of this Cabinet approval The Bridgend County Borough Council (Porthcawl Waterfront Regeneration) Compulsory Purchase Order 2021 (“the CPO”) was formally made by the Council on 8 October 2021 and will shortly be sent to the Welsh Ministers for confirmation.

The statutory objection period relating to the CPO has now commenced. As part of this process, the making of the CPO has been advertised in a local newspaper, notification letters have been sent to landowners and parties with an interest in the land, and site notices have been erected across the site.

In order to ensure that members of the public have access to the CPO documents, copies of the July Cabinet Report and Minutes, the CPO, the Statement of Reasons and the statutory Press Notice have been made available online.

Physical copies of the full suite of CPO documents, including those documents listed in the Statement of Reasons, are also available for public inspection at Porthcawl Library as detailed below:
